AUDIOCONFERENCE OVERVIEW

Preparing to Achieve the Benefits and Incentives from e-Prescribing

Effective January 1, 2009, Medicare will provide physicians who use e-prescribing a 2% incentive for their Medicare patients. This is in addition to the benefits patients and providers are seeing in convenience and patient safety. This audioconference provides an overview of how to get started in e-prescribing, information on the new CMS incentives, tips on using e-prescribing, and description of benefits resulting from information available through e-prescribing systems.

WHAT IS AN AUDIOCONFERENCE?
It is a live event that includes session handouts, an interactive question and answer period, and access for an unlimited number of participants at each call-in site. However, only one site can be offered per registration. It is impermissible for an organization to purchase one registration and to operate multiple sites through an internal telephone system. During the live Audioconference participants will be able to ask questions and make comments. The Audioconference faculty has agreed to take follow-up questions via email. Audioconferences are simple, accessible, cost effective and reach a broad audience locally.

WHO SHOULD LISTEN:
These courses are useful for all stakeholders involved in the process of HIE formation, management, and use, including physicians, nurses and other clinicians; health plan provider network relations managers and strategic planners; HIE administrators and project managers; IT staff, database planners and maintainers; and others who may be engaged in policy formulation, financing, or standards setting. Policymakers and public health officials at the state and federal level will find the program useful as they develop and roll-out their programs in support of HIE and a nationwide health information network.

AUDIOCONFERENCE MATERIALS:
